Panchika ("we", "our", or "us") is a Telugu panchangam (calendar) app operated by Happyloop Inc. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Panchika app collects, how it is used, and your choices - both for the app itself and for the advertising that supports it.

1. Our Approach: Offline-First, Minimal Data

Panchika's core functionality (daily panchangam, calendar, muhurtham finder, festivals) works entirely offline using data bundled with the app. We do not require account creation, and we do not operate our own servers to store your personal data.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Location Data

With your permission, we use your device's location (or a manually selected city) to calculate accurate sunrise/sunset times and location-specific panchangam details. This is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us or stored on any server. You can deny location access and manually select a city instead.

2.2 App Preferences

Language preference (Telugu/English), selected location, and display settings are stored locally on your device only.

2.3 Advertising Data (via Google AdMob)

Panchika is free to use and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Google (and its advertising partners) may collect device identifiers, approximate location, and app usage information to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where you have provided consent.

Where required (e.g. EEA, UK), we present a consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before showing personalized ads, and you can choose non-personalized ads instead.

2.4 Crash & Diagnostic Data

We may use basic crash-reporting to keep the app stable. This does not include personal information beyond device model, OS version, and the crash details themselves.

To calculate and display accurate panchangam data for your location
To remember your language and location preferences between sessions
To serve and measure advertising that keeps Panchika free
To diagnose and fix crashes or bugs

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only with:

Google AdMob: for ad serving and measurement (Google Privacy Policy)
Legal authorities: if required by law

5. Your Choices

Deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings
Opt out of personalized ads via the in-app consent prompt or your device's ad settings
Use the app fully offline with manual location entry instead of GPS

6. Children's Privacy

Panchika is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads shown in the app are not configured for child-directed treatment.

7. Data Retention

Since panchangam data ships with the app and preferences are stored locally on your device, this data persists only until you clear app data or uninstall the app. We do not retain personal data on our own servers.

8. International Users

Panchika is used by Telugu-speaking users worldwide. Advertising partners such as Google may process data in countries other than your own, subject to their own privacy policies and applicable safeguards.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
